Privacy Policy
This is a plain-language draft written for the Schema team. Fill in the contact details and have it reviewed before you publish it. It is not legal advice.
The short version
Schema is a calendar app for Mac. Your calendar events stay in your Google account. Schema does not sell your data, show ads, or use your data to train AI models.
What Schema accesses
- Google Calendar data. If you connect a Google account, Schema asks Google for permission to read your calendars and events and, if you allow it, to create, change and delete events. This data is fetched directly from Google to your Mac and shown in the app. Schema’s servers do not store your events.
- Your Google sign-in. A refresh token is kept in your Mac’s Keychain so you stay signed in. It never leaves your Mac and is never sent to Schema’s database.
What a Nexus account stores
If you create a Nexus account (optional), we store: your email address; your name, username, pronouns and profile picture; optional profile details (such as a bio, status, location or website); your plan and badges; your connections to other members; and your Schema settings, namely color rules, groups, saved views, hidden events, event colors and calendar colors. We do not store the titles, times or contents of your calendar events in Nexus. Event identifiers can appear in hidden-event or color settings.
Other members can see your username, name and profile picture if you connect with them. Nobody can browse a list of members; they can only look someone up by their exact username.
Where it is stored
Nexus data is stored with Supabase, our database and file storage provider. Access is limited by row-level security so each account can only read and change its own rows.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Schema’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide the calendar features you see in the app. It is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not shared with third parties except as needed to run the service. People at Schema do not read your calendar data.
Notifications and diagnostics
If you allow it, Schema shows alerts for your events as Mac notifications. These are created on your Mac. Schema does not collect analytics about what is in your calendar.
